Jacobs signs at Topland’s Newcastle Citygate II

International real estate advisor Savills has advised landlord Topland Vintage on a letting to global engineering and consulting firm Jacobs who will take space in Citygate II in Newcastle, following a comprehensive refurbishment of the ground floor and common areas.

The agreement, which sees Jacobs join existing tenants that include EY, UNW and Grainger, means that the building is almost fully let, with only a 1,582 sq ft fully fitted suite available, providing 16 workstations, an eight-person meeting room, two pods and a large kitchen / breakout space, aimed at meeting the growing demand for fully fitted ‘turnkey’ suites.

Citygate II is located next to St James Metro Station, providing easy access to the wider Tyne & Wear Metro network whilst both Newcastle Central Station and Haymarket Bus Station are within a five minute walk. The area has undergone significant regeneration over the past three years with Citygate II situated within an area which is widely recognised as the prime office location within the city.

Greg Davison from Savills Newcastle office comments: “The recent refurbishment cements Citygate II’s position in the market as a popular building with corporate occupiers and continues to attract major companies like Jacobs. The final space remaining in Citygate II is a fully fitted suite, and it’s one of the only fitted suites of that size in the Newcastle market.”

Steve Pope, Group Director, Property and Asset Management at Topland comments: “We are delighted to bring Jacobs to join our strong roster of major occupiers, attracting this major international business reinforces the strength of CG2’s location and the high quality office space and common areas.”

Topland was represented by joint agents Savills and Knight Frank. Jacobs is represented by Cushman & Wakefield.
