Savills brings freehold of Bron Eifion Country House Hotel in North Wales to market

Savills is marketing for sale the freehold of Bron Eifion Country House Hotel in Criccieth, North Wales, at a guide price of £1.7m.

The current owners of the Grade II-listed Bron Eifion Country House Hotel have announced their retirement, having transformed the 19th-century mansion into one of North Wales most beloved destination wedding venues.

Built in 1883 for slate magnate John E. Greaves, Bron Eifion has long been a jewel of the Llyn Peninsula. The property has been maintained to an exceptional standard, blending its Victorian grandeur, complete with ornate pine panelling and a vaulted Great Hall, with modern luxury. The hotel has developed a reputation for excellence as a highly rated four-star destination.

Bron Eifion comprises 17 individually designed en-suite bedrooms, plus a four-bedroom detached bungalow for proprietors and separate staff accommodation. Licensed for indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies, the venue also includes the Garden Room and Llechwedd Room, catering for up to 150 and 24 guests respectively.

Externally, the magnificent Grade II listed property is set within five acres of manicured gardens and woodland, featuring two helipads and panoramic views over Cardigan Bay and the Eyri (Snowdonia) National Park.

There is potential for growth too as the sale includes planning consent (granted May 2022) for three self-contained holiday chalets. The business currently operates as a "lifestyle business" trading five days a week, but the property presents significant opportunities to increase revenue through full-week operations

John Heenan, Owner of Bron Eifion Country House Hotel, comments: "It has been a true privilege to be the custodians of Bron Eifion for the last 20 years. We are incredibly proud of the memories we have helped create for countless families. As we look forward to our retirement, we are excited to pass the torch to new owners who will bring fresh energy to this magnificent estate."

Tom Cunningham, UK Regional Director, Hotel Capital Markets, Savills Manchester, comments: “This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a luxury country house hotel offering some of the best scenery in Wales with panoramic views of the Llyn Peninsula and Eryri National Park. The Bron Eifion Country House Hotel has been in the same ownership and management for 20 years. The current owners have maintained it to a high standard, running it as a lifestyle business on working days, and are now looking forward to being able to retire.”
