I think you will continue to see a high regulatory environment within this sector, and you have seen some landlords exit. But, there are still some very good investment prospects, particularly because interest rates are going to stay low.

A number of rule changes have come into force throughout the UK for landlords and tenants in the private rented sector. With uncertainty around Covid-19 still prevailing, landlords will have questions about what to expect in the coming months.
On Tuesday 9 March 2021, we hosted a webinar with Anne Ashworth, former editor of The Times Bricks & Mortar, and now property and finance writer and commentator, and our lettings experts at Savills to address questions relating to compliance by sharing:
- An update of all regulation and legislation affecting landlords
- Insight into energy efficiency standards and how to improve your EPC rating
- The current environment for investors
- How the corporate market has fared, and what we predict going forward
Please note, since this webinar took place, the UK government has announced that it is not accepting Green Homes Grant applications from homeowners after the end of the 2020 financial year (31 March 2021).
