Savills advising Nottingham Forest on redevelopment of City Ground

Planning applications for the redevelopment of Nottingham Forest Football Club’s stadium have been submitted following consultancy advice from Savills.

Nottingham Forest FC is seeking permission to expand their City Ground stadium to a capacity of over 50,000. This development is part of the vison from the Club’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, following Forest’s return to the Premier League three years ago and the return to European competition this season (2025/26).

The redevelopment will be an integral part of the economic growth of the city and the wider region.

Savills is leading on land acquisition and the planning process; and working alongside KSS Architects, Gleeds and Buro Happold.

Chris Potts, planning director at Savills, says: “It is a privilege working with Nottingham Forest and the design team expanding the City Ground from 30,000 to over 50,000 to be competitive with other Premier League clubs and to meet the huge demand for tickets. The phased delivery will allow the Club to continue at the City Ground whilst the works take place.”
